Lines
The paddocks around here are being cut for stockfood at the moment. Mostly it is being baled in huge plastic-wrapped wheels and stacked at the side of the paddocks ready for the time of need. I really like the lines created by the cutter in my favourite paddock on Paradise Gully Road.
Speaking of plastic, I watched this illuminating video about the recent attempt to reach a global treaty on plastics and petrochemical pollution. It sounds a heavy topic, but it is presented well. And it includes some startling information about how much we don't know about the effects of the chemicals in plastics, yet more and more are being created.
Given the evident severity of human beings' addiction to plastic, I am more than ever striving to avoid getting anything containing it. A remarkably hard challenge.
I think the best I can do is to acquire plastic only where there is no alternative. And of course to only get essentials. (The latter is a given these days.)
It has been another hot windy day. I worked in K's garden this morning, where the main jobs are guess what? Yes, weeding and watering!
Then I came home and did more of the same here, until my body told me that enough was enough and it was time for a long cold drink and a sit-down. My brain was quite keen to carry on and get more things ticked off the list. But today my body has triumphed, and I have stopped for the day.
Bean approved of the decision.
