Snow Leopard
Went through to Aberdeen to go see the new Moana 2. We all loved it. Some critics had said it wasn’t great, blah blah blah. This is why film reviews have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Yes it’s not unique, like the first one. But you can also jump straight back in with the same characters you know. I want a Kakamora.
On the way we went past Marischal Square. It has this impressive window snow display including this leopard. I always forget the leopard is a big symbol for Aberdeen. Makes sense why I see so many around the place! One day I’ll blip the leopard sculpture that is directly behind this picture.
Leopards in Aberdeen
Legend has it, two leopards were bestowed as a gift to to the city by King James I after after his long and ‘compulsory residence’ in England. After being held captive, Aberdeen underwrote the expenses he had incurred during captivity.
Having subsequently been incorporated into the design of the city’s seal, the leopard has remained a prominent symbol in the north east.
