Loch Leven
We’ve had a lovely day today. An early drive through to the East to join a small group for a bird ID walk with SOC (Scottish Ornithology Club) guide, Scott Paterson at Loch Leven. Thanks to his skill, we saw many different species of bird, large and small, including two birds of prey and two different types of egret. It was also lovely to see a good number of family groups of whooper swans on the loch from one of the RSPB hides, and a couple of herons sitting in the trees along the water’s edge.
Afterwards we met a friend for a leisurely late lunch in Kinross and got home early evening. We were so lucky with the weather, very cold walking by the loch but bright and dry, a beautiful mid-winter’s day.
