Home mid-morning from the overnighter at work and in to town to catch a lunchtime screening of Nightbitch at Vue Omni - a new film starring Amy Adams and directed by Marielle Heller in very limited release shocker!

Now, I'd read Rachel Yoder's source novel recently and was pretty blown away by it so I was very keen to see this film, despite the mixed reviews it's had. Mixed reviews which I don't really get to be honest, for both myself and my partner were pretty impressed by it, any purported 'silliness' making perfect sense within the metaphorical nature of the narrative. And some extremely pertinent points were made about gender inequalities and motherhood throughout the film. Well worth a watch I'd say.

Pic here is from Edinburgh Street food next door to Omni. I'd never been before but I have to say that my Peruvian belly pork with sweet potato fries, salsa criolla and aji verde was extremely tasty indeed. As was the accompanying pint.

A wander along Princes Street with a bit of Christmas shopping did us for the afternoon. An evening in with Christmas tree and telly beckons.
