After the Storm
A quieter night. And it was good to wake up to a bright morning although cold. On checking everything outside all that was needed was the recycle bins righted as they had been playing in the courtyard, and tidying up the items waiting to go to the tip that had repositioned themselves!!
I got off lightly, as I walked down to S'bury's I saw one of my neighbours who puts up a wonderful garden Christmas light display replacing the items that were blown over, nothing broken though, a bit further two properties had part of their back wall and fencing demolished. On my way back from Instow, I passed by there again and there was a local fencing firm chap surveying the scene.
Having stayed indoors yesterday, I decided to take a spin over to the Instow area, mainly to see what damage had been caused, I had already heard that S'bury's had to close their fuel station as they lost some of the roof, although they were open this morning. On the drive along the A39 there was evidence of trees having come down and road been cleared. As I drove into Instow the morning tide had gone out, and there were plenty of people well wrapped up taking a stroll along the beach although there was plenty of sand on the the road.
I came out the other end of the seafront road and headed towards Bideford, and stopped at a layby to take these images before heading back home for lunch.
Hope everyone on here that has been affected by Storm Darragh are safe, dry and warm. Take care out there :-)xx
