Sgwarnog: In the Field

Bunting

The bunting was out at the station. I can’t imagine what the occasion might be…

Storm Darragh discouraged me from venturing very far, but I did risk the two mile journey to Guiseley for some football. Visitors Whitby Town had made it across safely from the other side of Yorkshire. Conditions were tricky, with wind in the range of 40mph, but the players were still able to make a match of it. Guiseley secured a 3-1 win to maintain their current position at the top end of the Northern Premier League play-off places, behind runaway leaders Macclesfield.

Many thanks to all of you who visit my journal. Things have become somewhat recursive after 14 years, but there’s some value, and thickness of experience, in revisiting things and places again and again. Thanks also to all those that keep this place up and running, and a beacon of conviviality and kindness amid the horrorscape of social media platforms.
