Time for Tea
I took Mr K and Little miss bossy out for afternoon tea today.
In the courtyard of a French wine cellar a stone's throw from the banks of the Rhein in Düsseldorf there was a perfect English tea party.
A chilled glass of something alcoholic to start with, whilst listening to a couple of harpists and then onto tea.
The long table was set with linen table cloths and napkins and all the crockery was antique, mismatched bone china. The smoked salmon sandwiches (triangular & crustless of course) were sublime, the scones came with clotted cream and homemade jam and the victoria sponge cake was filled with strawberries and cream. All of this was washed down with fragrant tea - we had two, the Prince William and an Earl Gey, the only downside was that I couldn't manage to sample all the cake on offer, should have asked for a doggie bag!
