Last Day of School Except .....

... that it isn't!

Our school year contains 4 terms of 10 weeks.

Except this year they added on another week to Term 4.

Apparently, they do this every 4 to 6 years, and it's not only Queensland that do it but other states too.

But no one can explain why.

The private schools don't do it only the state schools., (this explains why I've never heard of it as my children went to a private school here).

The other weird thing is the schools say the children don't have to go to school and if they do they wont be learning anything they will just spend their time playing games and watching movies.

Plus, their absence will not be marked against their school record.

So, for the life of me I can't see why they've tagged this extra week on at all.

Our girls are still going to school, so it will be interesting to hear what it was like.
