An ordinary life....

The Knife Angel...

Also known as The National Monument Against Violence and Aggression.

My photo doesn't do the sculpture justice.  It's quite sobering to look at all those knives close up knowing they've been involved in knife crimes where people have been hurt and in some cases killed.  It was quite an emotional experience standing there looking up at it.

It's positioned outside the new Perth Museum and everyone who passed stopped to look and read the information.  Very thought provoking.

D and I were in Perth early to meet the kitchen designer at Howdens and make final choices of finishes for the Team's new kitchen.  We were more focused this time and within half an hour had finalised the kitchen layout and chosen door finishes, worktop, splash back and flooring.

We also decided on a fitter and met him while we were there.  We didn't think it would be done before Christmas but he had three kitchens to fit this month but one is on hold due to a change in design, so he said he could fit us in!  We hesitated thinking it could be a nightmarish rush,  but as he's basically working with a blank canvas (there's not a kitchen to be removed) and all the services are in place, he doesn't foresee any issues (famous last words! :-)  He said he would pop out to the house at 4pm just to confirm this would be the case.

D and I left there and headed into Perth City Centre.  Had lunch at the museum then a little bit of shopping in M&S.

Home to continue putting decs up!  Alan returned from a shopping trip to Livingston with Andrew and Vickie then they'd taken Andrew to Dundee to meet up with his mum.   Alan wanted to watch Polar Express. Again!  :-)

More crochet and meal planning for Andrew, Nikki, Esme and Jen coming for dinner on Saturday.
