Birch Wood

A very quick day today. Don't know where the time went as it was a quiet morning, but spent most of that time configuring a development environment. A quick walk at lunch time as I have a meeting. Blip shows the birch wood from the park. Oak trees keep their leaves throughout the winter. the keeping of leaves by deciduous trees, namely oak and beech, is called marcescence, from the latin "to fade".

Back home, I have my meeting while eating lunch. the back to the development environment, which eventually works just in time to go for an afternoon walk before Storm Darragh arrives. It feels a bit cooler than in the morning, due to the breeze having increased a tad. But we make it to the café dry. Friday afternoon coffee and cake is purchased and eaten. Not much talk as we are booth searching for ideas. Mee I am looking for Christmas presents, partner is looking at craft videos for ideas. When we leave the café, the rain has started. It doesn't seem heavy, but in the short distance back to the house, our coats are quite damp. At least as some of the mud has been washed off the shoes.
