Day of culture
Backblipped Saturday 7th December
Breakfast bagels in the wee diner round the corner before walking round Walk street and managing to take a people free picture at the Raging Bull. Well it was raining again! We headed over to Brooklyn to visit the Transit museum which is based in an old subway station and was fascinating. The old adverts were brilliant!
As the rain had stopped we walked back over he Brooklyn bridge. It was freezing but the walk warmed us up. Back to O’Hara’s for a late lunch before a chilled afternoon and starting the packing.
The Whitney museum of American art hosts free Fridays so we headed over there to view the permanent collections of Dennis Hopper and Georgia o’Keefe artworks. It was busy but as we’d pre booked tickets we got straight in.
We enjoyed looking at the art work and I enjoyed the Alvin Ailey exhibition but Mr PHL isn’t really into dancing so he wasn’t too fussed to stay for too long.
We made our way back to the hotel but decided to grab a curry in the little Indian restaurant on the corner beside the bar first. It was very tasty
