The dark horse
Every year I like to conduct a personal testing of various supermarket’s mince pies, to try to identify that year’s favourite.
Here’s an oddity from a lower-end supermarket, a chocolate caramel crumble mince pie.Not a success, it was difficult to identify any taste of mincemeat, and the thing was baked so hard it had me fearing for my teeth.
The winner so far is another lower-end supermarket’s all-butter Exceptional mince pies, beautifully deep-filled with a luxurious tasting mincemeat.
