Today's the day ....................... to be blessed

After all the dire weather warnings, we were expecting to feel the full force of Storm Darragh by the time we woke up this morning.  And sure enough, there did seem to be a real commotion going on outside when I eventually surfaced and opened the bedroom curtains, wondering what scenes of chaos I would be witness to.

Imagine my surprise when I saw the above?!  No chaos - rather an orderly procession of enormous road-mending kit, eating up the old road surface - and hopefully planning to replace it with new.  Considering we've been hoping this might happen for several years, my joy knew no bounds.

So - well done D&G Council (Roads Department) for carrying on with their programme of work, despite the arrival of a named storm.  We're SO delighted to have a new bit of road outside our house.  It's the best Christmas present you could ever have thought of .......................!
