1018 day of war
Hello, friends!
This week, there have been significantly fewer missile strikes on power stations, and electricity supply has gradually been restored. We are now living according to more stable schedules , now we have 8 hours of electricity and 2 hours without. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for the energy workers right now. Every day, they are trying to repair the grid, and it’s truly challenging because being an energy worker these days is almost like being on the front line. Each winter, power infrastructure becomes a primary target for enemy attacks.
On Monday night, there was another attack on our city. Around 1 a.m., we woke up to a powerful explosion. A drone hit an apartment building on the next street. Several apartments burned down, and there were casualties and injuries. For our city, this was unexpected, especially since we didn’t think it would be so close. There aren’t any critical infrastructure objects near us.
Recently, Nastya and I had almost stopped waking up during nighttime air raid alarms. It had started to feel like shelling usually happened far away. But now, it seems everything is changing, and the danger is getting closer. I try not to think about what would happen if a drone ever hit our building—how we’d have to start over again, how we’d survive. I just hope it doesn’t come to that. Even though life is hard now, we’ve managed to adapt, and losing everything again would be catastrophic.
We’ve turned our air raid alerts back to maximum volume and now wake up at night to take shelter. It’s tough, though. It’s harder to get a good night’s sleep, and I often have headaches during the day and feel drowsy. But we keep doing it because winter is such a dangerous time, and we need to be prepared for anything.
Over the past few months, there have been almost no orders for T-shirts and socks. For the last couple of weeks, I haven’t dyed anything and have focused solely on work. Now, as I have more free time, I’m trying to create again because I enjoy it, even without orders. At the moment, I’m preparing a long-sleeve shirt for dyeing, and I’ve ordered a batch of socks to dye as Christmas gifts for friends and family. December is always a busy month, with so much to do, but I hope I can manage everything and bring joy to people with my creations.
Thank you all for your support and for helping through BuyMeACoffee. I’m so grateful not to be alone in this situation and deeply appreciate your support.
