Byron’s Chateau de Chillon

It’s been a while since I went down to the Chateau. Really heavy rain was forecast from midday and it arrived just as we sat down in the cafe at the Chateau. What a noisy and expensive experience that was, it is really a « honey pot area ». There were bus loads of Italian tourists today and I thought it would be quiet! Got that wrong! It is the most visited historic building in Switzerland, dating back to the 12th century.

For Preston fans … Preston is 5 today (extra) … phew he made it this far … after foot rot from processional caterpillar hairs at 8 months, two broken legs at 20 months when he must have fallen from the roof. A hip replacement at 2 years broken in the fall, a bite on the ear that gave him septicemia this spring and resulted in a popped Achilles tendon which was mended, then the great limp that resulted in his leg amputation ten days ago. He is the most unlucky cat in the world. We love him to bits of course and thank goodness he was insured after the caterpillar saga!
