More Sweet Chestnuts
While those for my chestnut stuffing are safely tucked up in the freezer I couldn't resist buying more, to roast and eat.
Unfortunately, the second lot, from a different shop, are not the same quality and my appetite for them waned. So these will be used instead of buying them pre-cooked, for a vegetarian recipe I fancy making (thanks to the Lochinver Pie Shop for inspiration).
Having something of a pyjama day after the excitements of the week I took the opportunity to peel them while listening to a range of recordings of Sure On This Shining Night on YouTube, followed by a couple of hours of other beautiful music by the likes of Voces8. I
Tomorrow I'll make up the recipe for Miss Flum to sample with us, she complains when I serve meat too ofen. Given approval, next time will definitely use pre-cooked, though.
