Black & White, Hot and Cold

The title just about sums up today. The weather was hot one minute, cold the next and the blip is me practicing black and white. I think the effect looks very much like a 50's picture postcard, well not exactly, but as near as dammit. I am sad the hot weather and the sun has left us. I could get used to it. Can you see the chess board in the picture? We have been down here so many times and today was the first time we noticed it. How many other things do we see on a daily basis, but we don't register?
I forgot to mention this is Porthcawl this afternoon.
