My day

Simple hebe

I grew this hebe from a cutting years ago. They are nice tidy plants with few needs.

My outing today was to visit an historic home called Karralea. The volunteers from Miss Traill’s had a special tour. The house was built by miss Traill’s grandfather’s brother ( I think that is the right connection). They were the original white settlers here and amassed huge holdings ( I won’t talk about the dispossession of the original habitants). The home was eventually converted into a boys boarding school Scots School Bathurst during WW2 when the people in Sydney were worried about an invasion.

A few years ago the Anglican school closed due to financial difficulties and ended up amalgamating with Scots. It is now a coeducational boarding school called Scots All Saints. I forgot to take any photos. Oops
