Mrs Temple & Thomas Hardy
M and I enjoyed a coffee in Bakers & Larner’s this morning before attending a fascinating talk by Mrs Temple, a well-known cheese maker from the village of Wighton (near Wells-Next-the-Sea). She was a very engaging speaker and we learnt how she got into cheese making as well as all the processes involved. I was impressed with how sustainable their farm is, processing their waste into methane which provides all the energy needed to produce the cheese and the excess is sold to some of the local villagers.
This afternoon I went to an excellent concert in Cley church featuring poetry by Thomas Hardy and musical performances that combined to tell the story of Thomas Hardy’s musical life. Tea and pear & ginger cake rounded the afternoon off perfectly.
