Arbutus tree
It was an unusually foggy day. We live high above the city and enjoy the benefit of clear skies when the city disappears in thick fog. Today the mist stayed around us as well.
The unruly photinia hedge is our neighbour's - the red leaves new growth thanks to us cutting back what grows into our backyard.
The tree in the distance is called arbutus by Canadians, madrone or madrona by Americans and is native to west coast Canada.
