In from the cold
When I blipped Nest just over a year ago she was in her usual winter quarters in the conservatory - essentially a chilly outhouse.
She avoided coming indoors because her granddaughter Cleo was so aggressive towards her (for reasons unknown.)
This year Nest broke the habit of years, abandoned the conservatory and calmly came indoors to take up position in the warmest part of the kitchen. . Like a Russian babushka (grandmother) she sleeps on the stove, or in a private nook under the sink.
The dynamics have changed. Cleo has been bested and quiet assertiveness has enabled Nest to claim her rightful position as senior cat.
The jug, a favourite of ours, shows two cats sitting side by side. They haven't quite got to that point yet.
