More trees
I didn't do better at getting out of bed this morning, but it had nothing to do with the party. I am delighted that restraint paid off, and there are no lingering effects from a night out with the team. If only it could always be like this.
I left for my Tai Chi class on time, noticing that the train I needed was five minutes late. When I arrived at the station, that had been pushed out by a few more minutes. When it arrived, a four-carriage train appeared. It was packed, like one of those scenes from Tokyo where commuters must be pushed onto the train. At Raynes Park, there was nobody to help us on the train. A lot of upset people were left standing. The next train, "not scheduled to stop at this station," ran through with plenty of space. I don't know what commuters are supposed to do. Today, the government announced that South Western Railway would be the first train service to return to public ownership. But what will that do? It's so frustrating.
I gave up and walked to get my steps in for the day. The Christmas tree is lit at Raynes Park. I don't think there was a switch-on ceremony this year. Eventually, I walked down to Wimbledon Chase, where I bought some chicken for dinner.
