SANDWELL GATE

The picture postcard houses of Hartlepool and the 14th century Town Wall from a slightly different angle. The arch is the Sandwell Gate, originally leading from the Sandwell Chare onto the beach though the street level is now much higher after the ancient streets behind were demolished and redeveloped between 1938 and 1955.

Another dull headache all day, enough to slow me down a bit (which doesn't take much) but not stop me doing things.
