Wednesday: Cotoneaster

I had a lie in until 8 this morning, the last few days have really taken all my energy … but I was determined to empty the washing basket!

Washing had a couple of hours outdoors then finished off on the clothes maid, heavy rain all afternoon - heating on :-)

Started watching “Sherlock” on iPlayer whilst I had a lazy few hours. Also reading https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3301663053124206662 which I’ve almost finished.

The Cotoneaster is such a useful tree, covered in flowers from late Spring to early Summer when the pollinators are at their peak, then covered in berries for many weeks in Autumn which had so many blackbirds a few weeks ago, holding on to its leaves late into the year where the small birds find lots of insects, the leaves have good colour too which is cheering on a grey day. They self seed around the garden too :-)
