SEAL

Here is Kevin a Mammal Medic from BDMLR, (British Divers Marine Life Rescue), picking up an injured baby seal from the shore at Stromness.
This was because the seal was obviously injured and in distress - and that would be the only reason not to keep well away from seals 'stranded' on the shore, especially babies.

The female seal was seen by local vets to have her infected wounds treated and is now being cared for by BDMLR.  She wouldn't have survived if left alone, so now she has a chance.

Extra is the seal after treatment.

FINAL REPORT - "Stevie" the little (female) seal is doing well and eating plenty of fish.  She is in the Hillswick Sanctuary in Shetland with other seals and will be released from there in due course.
