Berry Time
Helena is here! Her plane arrived right on time and we picked her up at the airport. She had Bunny in her carrier. We drove home and they are now getting settled in their new space. Bunny hid under the bed which is actually a good sign because that is what she did back in Boston when faced with scariness. She finally came out and was snuggling and purring. Helena is busy getting unpacked and settled. We are so delighted that she is here.
Before she came we did some last minute shopping and straightening up. After she came and we had some time together, she took a nap. Arvin did too and I wandered around the yard garden looking for a blip. I got this on our supposed street. Our "street" used to be nothing but berry bushes. Then the city mowed some of them down so they could put in water meters. We actually get to our house via an ally while our "street" remains unimproved. Along the edges there are still lots of blackberry bushes and this photo is of one of those. They are full of new berries. It will be a banner year for fruit this year. I am looking forward. I ate some today while I was stalking the illusive blip. The ones that come right off in your hand are scrumptious. The ones that don't are pretty sour, not quite ready yet.
We are so delighted that Helena is here. We all had wild king salmon together for dinner and talked and laughed. Now she is unpacking and I expect she'll go to bed early as it is three hours later in Boston where she came from. Tomorrow we shop! Already it is clear we need more hangers. :)
Not sure how much commenting I'll get to this evening. Have a great weekend if I don't have a chance to personally wish you one. Cheers!
