Dog on the tuckerbox

Another long day of driving, from Gundagai to Katoomba, but we stopped a couple of times on the way. This stop was to see the famous Dog on the Tuckerbox statue, which is mentioned in a couple of lyrical poems about the outback.
We arrived in the Blue Mountains about 3pm and after checking in at our hotel we had a walk round Katoomba, which seemed to us a bit tired and had seen better times. Our hotel was an example of that. It is a Monday night but there do not seem to be many people staying in the hotel or the town
