Get Me to the Church on Time!

Yes, another evangelical church blip. The song title challenge for today is Get Me to the Church on Time, so I couldn't resist this mega-church when I knew I'd be in the vicinity of it today.

It's a very imposing building; it's hard to see the scope from this photo; this one gives a little better idea. The whole compound - and I use that word purposefully - takes up a couple of city blocks and includes a campground full of cabins reminiscent of migrant camps. There are frequent revivals here.

My question is: if Jesus is the light of the world, as their sign proclaims, why is this place locked up behind iron gates, stone walls and padlocks? It is not at all inviting.
