I spotted this little fella in a tree in the park this morning. I didn't take him home and it rained fairly hard shortly after so who knows what condition he's in now.
We went 'all the way round' rather than staying on the park side of the river. I saw my first Darley padlock on the bridge (in extras). When we were in Verona recently, you couldn't move for padlocks on every landmark, railing or fence. Romantic?
I had a feeling I'd see one today and I was right. Crossing the bridge by Folly Rd, I saw a flash of blue and there he was. A kingfisher. He flew from a branch to the rocks and then onto another branch across the river inlet. He wasn't close enough to photograph with phones but he was very visible to see. We watched him for ten minutes or so. Beautiful.
The rest of the day was laptop/phone based. Researching train tickets, hotel prices or parking options for Manchester airport in December. Nothing booked yet though - indecision reigns. Also putting stuff for sale on eBay and Facebook marketplace; time consuming but hopefully fruitful.
In other news, Skunk fixed a dripping pipe* in the cupboard which has meant the bathroom radiator had been switched off since spring. I'm looking forward to having heat in there from tomorrow.
* Not last week's drip, the investigation window on that has not expired yet. I hope it's quicker than this one.
