Backblip

Another busy and memorable day. First up a trip with friends to the closed Underground station of Aldwych. You’ve probably seen it in movies or TV shows. Utterly fascinating.
After lunch we met up with Kid A for a trip around the Houses of Parliament. You’re not allowed to take photos in most of the rooms, but this photo was taken in one of the permitted zones. A really interesting self-guided tour. Very strange to be standing in the same spot as so many Prime Ministers, surrounded by so much history. So many strange little details, like the Post Office; the pigeon holes for all MPs, all the same size and alphabetically ordered; the mark on the House of Commons door, made by Black Rod banging on the door; the Royal entrance and the sheer size overwhelming opulence of the House of Lords.
