Hoary Marmot

First Day at Emerald Lake

My wife almost stepped on this rather large (±13kg) rodent while on a hike to Consolation Lake.

She yelped, and tried to pick up both feet at the same time. Was quite amusing.

The marmot high-tailed it up the trail, then turned and posed for a photograph while surveying what all the ruckus was about!
