I took a wrong turn into the nice part of town

Doing my community bit today shopping for the housebound in Old Stockaree!

This is the entrance to St Stephen's Place from Hamilton Place Edinburgh. For a young lad of 15 from the north Edinburh housing schemes this was the portal to whole new countercultural spin on the world back in the late 70s. Through this gateway were the flats of some interesting people. The steps beyond led one through the market gate, past a stripey jumper shop to The Antiquary Bar and Tiffany's dancehall where Regular Music put on punk and new wave bands from 1977 until the great fire of the early 80s.
