Sgwarnog: In the Field

Pits

Ben Rhydding Gravel Pits nature reserve was quiet, at least in terms of people. I didn’t see another soul in the ninety minutes I spent there.

There were flocks of Lapwing and Curlew circulating above and around the surrounding fields, and I spied one Kingfisher, one Grey Wagtail and one Grey Heron on the River Wharfe.

Then next door, at the football, Ilkley Town Women were hosting Morley Town in a West Riding County WFL Premier League fixture. Three goals in each half gave Ilkley a comfortable 6-0 win.
