Brrr!!

Oh it was chilly today! 26F overnight (-3C) and we had our first frost. The annuals are now truly gone, frozen solid overnight. This fuchsia is in a container on my back deck and although it was really frozen, the leaves looked fine this afternoon. The flowers are toast however. Be interesting to see just how hardy a plant it is. We've got a week of sun and cold coming up. Nice not to have rain for a bit.

I went with a couple of girlfriends to a sweet winery out in the country early this afternoon. One of my friends is a member and she was picking up her wine. A nice festive party! Tonight I'm headed over to a friend's house for dinner - sort of a follow up to last night's football party - a subset of the same people. It should be fun, although honestly I'd be just as happy sitting by the fire with the kitties :-) Been a long week!
