Lights for Lucy

After a difficult morning poleaxed by pain, and a fairly awful-but-necessary dunk in the lake, it all paled into insignificance tonight watching the spectacle of over 100 tractors coming through the village, all lit up for Lucy.

Lucy died two years aged 13, and her brother organised this decorated tractor run to raise money for teenage cancer care. Starting in Penrith, they took in Greystoke, Penruddock, Dacre, Pooley Bridge, Tirril and Edenhall.

Later I could see a long line of lights in the distance,  snaking back along Beacon Edge in Penrith.
