Not such a great night’s sleep but felt sprightly enough when I got up and P and I chatted about sustainable transport, sourdough baking, Vietnam travels and seitan.
We made a vegan fry up for breakfast and once everyone was up we demolished it, plus the last of T’s chocolate birthday cake!
We dropped the car with C&T’s cases down by the station and then walked up to the castle looking at the various landmarks en route. We walked back and left H&P to go to Hula’s for a drink whilst I took C&T down for their train. The one they’d booked was cancelled so they’d had to go for an earlier one unfortunately, but at least they’d got seats in the quiet coach.
I took the car home and went back down to town to meet H&P. They were pleased to pick up some presents for the family Christmas stockings and we explored Holyrood, looking at the palace and reading the quotes along the walls at the parliament.
We walked back up home via the park and bought some rolls on the way to make some sandwiches up, talking about sibling relationships before they packed up and set off home. I then blitzed the kitchen, stripped the beds and made them up again, and had some good chats on FaceTime with Mt and the family (on their way back from Hampton Court seeing the Tudor and Georgian things and having a go on the ice rink), T (on his way back to Bournemouth from Aylesbury) and A&N (showing me their Christmas tree and decorations) ….poor N thinks he’s coming down with a cold unfortunately.
I watched some catch up TV and decided to get an early night and work out what’s on this coming week!
