Stock

Instead of paying £35.00 for that beautiful boxed bouquet of flowers I blipped on Friday, I spent that money on a chicken in the bag, garlic and herbs variety, sprouts, parsnips, potatoes and quite a few other things.  So last night we had a very tasty chicken dinner (the works), tonight we will be having cold chicken, sprouts and mash and very tasty gravy followed by mini gluten free Christmas puddings.
 
After dissecting the chicken this morning there will be enough for a pie and a curry.  I made stock from the bones, carrot, onion, celery seasoning and peppercorns which will be perfect for soups or risotto.
 
Money well spent I think.
