Advent

First Sunday of Advent, so the first candle was lit this morning.  Our sermon was by Gordon, our minister of a few years ago;  it was so good to have him back with us, but he has some harrowing tales of life in the city.  

Last week there was a call put out for more donations for our Food Bank which had been running low.  Today they have so much they will be able to help much more!  Last Christmas 300 Christmas Hampers were given out in our area, and we hope to do at least as well this year.

A dull day, and a bit wet at times.  Have pottered around the house after lunch, made a pot of soup, and am thinking of starting Christmas card writing.  I don't 'do' Christmas until December but today is the first of the month.
