Weihnacht am Freudenberg

Today was a winter festival here beside Schloss Freudenberg..  There was a shout for volunteers on our Signal Group and Muggins here thought  "That'll be ok even with 2 dodgy legs, 2 numb feet, a knackered back and 3 possibly broken ribs".

Optimistic thinking on my part.  Really optimistic.

It was surprising how many people turned up.  400 adults and children.  98% of the kids want to stroke the donkeys - 2% were a little shy.  There were lots of questions - from grown-ups and children.  A job that is really my kind of thing.

And there was also lots of "Can we go for a walk with Emil?"  Naturally one doesn't say "No".  So - 50 kids had Fotos taken by their parents next to Emil out on a walk. 

It's important to mention that it was 1°C outside.  Bitterly cold.  What was meant to be 2 and a half hours of work turned into 4 hours.

Came home shattered.  And everything hurts.

On the plus side it was lovely to see the donkeys again.
