A Cavalcade of Lights!

This evening we went to see the Calvalcade of Lights in Waltham Abbey and when I was told at the hairdresser's on Thursday, that this event is very heavily attended, they weren't kidding! I have no shots  of the cavalcade (which I did see as much as a short person can) nor of the the beautiful Christmas lights as  I couldn't get a decent shot from behind so many folk considerably taller than me!
No matter, we are returning next Saturday to listen to Handel's Messiah in the Abbey and the children did  enjoy themselves so much this evening.  It was difficult to get decent shots of them on the many rides as there were crowds of people,  but here is one of Violet with her friends I and W, on a merry-go-round.
We finished the evening with an Indian meal.  The service was well meaning but slow and W fell asleep before his dinner arrived!
