There Must Be Magic

Autumn Meets Winter

The weather forecast for the Thanksgiving holiday itself was pretty dire. They predicted travel disruptions galore. What we encountered that day, however, was rain. (Thank goodness.) But the snow really hit us full force the next day!

It snowed off and on all day, all the way from flurries to blizzard, but you would not guess it from the looks of this photo. I went out in the middle of a snow squall and the wind tossed snow buds into my face and into my hair. I turned my umbrella into the wind, kept snapping photos anyway.

These are a few local trees that still have some autumn color on them. The picture shows just a dusting of snow, which was actually really all we got that stayed. But the wind made the most of it, tossing it and blowing it everywhere. Visibility was nil; if you were driving right then, it might have been dicey. I was glad I was only walking!

I don't know why but this is the song for the day just because I want it to be: Soft Cell, with Tainted Love.
