Glistening

Fine weather was forecast for today so I didn’t mind getting up early to see Merlin. As I let him in the garden I looked upwards to the sky and it was filled with pink light. It was a beautiful way to start the day.

The morning was spent digging up the summer fruiting raspberries at the allotment. They had got too densely packed in the bed they were in and I want to replace them with a better variety. It was warm but satisfying work. I treated myself to a chai tea sitting on the bench in the sunshine once I’d finished.

Later in the afternoon we walked on the beach at Hayling. It felt good to walk briskly with the fresh air on our faces and watch Merlin running in big circles on the sand.

I’m so grateful for this lovely day.
