M&S and some local garden centres always have some beautiful orchids for sale ..... I can't ever remember buying one

At this time of year I choose to buy 'plant it yourself' Amaryllis bulbs for Christmas presents. Prices vary but they are good value with the flowers lasting much longer than a box of chocolates.
