Taking one for the team!
My good friend Helen Venus of Wild Rambling walking holidays, loves staying at Sunnyside Guest House as much as I do. Yesterday she asked if I had eaten the fruit waffles for breakfast.
In order to show her a photo, I had to order them this morning. The fruit was delicious but I found the waffles to be a bit stodgy and sweet. However, honour was satisfied!
I did a quick shop in Booths which is the equivalent of Waitrose in Keswick. They had lovely things for Christmas presents. It was more expensive than Aldi by a long way.
I drove home via Alston and had soup at the café by the railway.
In Hexham I called to see Maureen in Carntyne. I think she looks good but I wish that an OT would provide her with a suitable chair to stop her almost falling out of this one. We caught up.
Then I called at the other Marjorie’s for a cuppa. We chatted on and she regaled me with Greek myths, even telling me the whole plot of a book she has sent to Canada as a Christmas present.
Home for a quiet evening.
