Too early?
I know I've long been fighting a losing battle on this but I don’t think Christmas decorations should go up before 1 December. I'm talking about public displays because I can't comment on what people choose to do in their own homes, although we tend to be pretty late getting a tree for the house, which is our main nod to the season, along with a nativity that has been in my family for 65 years or so and always sits on top of the fire mantelpiece. Not that we usually light a fire although we might well if this cold spell continues. Anyway the blip is of the Yuletide tableau at Motive Agency, a digital marketing and design business that now occupies premises alongside the stream that runs through Chobham. To give Motive their due, their celebratory and commemorative displays are always of a good standard and certainly add interest to the walk from the High Street. We now have Kanji, my eldest daughter's dog, a lurchet cross, staying with us for the weekend so the usual strict segregation policy has been reinstated to ensure he doesn't cross paths, indoors or out, with Rocky the cat.
