For Janey
There was a big crowd up at St Giles to greet Janey Godley's hearse, which was doing a wee birl round Edinburgh before heading to Glasgow for her funeral tomorrow. I should think Glasgow will be at a standstill.
The procession paused outside St Giles for an impeccably observed minute's silence (1st extra) and a song from a choir which was unfortunately not very audible. The hearse was inscribed with her catch-phrase 'Frank - get the door' (2nd extra). This was the sign-off on her Nicola Sturgeon voice-overs during lockdown. Of course, there was at least one person in the crowd holding up a sign with Janey's iconic opinion of DJT on it - (3rd extra, she's just to the left of the car fortunately out of focus!).
I recommend reading her memoir 'Handstands in the Dark'. An extraordinary life.
