Kaybees Bits

08.15 and No Frost

Before starting the text for today - I have to mention that after I had posted yesterday's entry the doorbell went unexpectedly. It was a delivery for me .... but I hadn't ordered anything.
When I opened it I found it was an 'Afternoon Tea' kit from M&s.
There was a note inside explaining it was a 'Thank You' from the couple across the road for the help in taking down the tree and the wee items made from it.
I will have to hunt him down and give him a ballocking.

It was a lovely sky as we had breakfast before setting off for Peebles to have proximity sensor replace on the rear of the car.

My intention for todays Blip was to be the 'hidden' bit inside the life sized sculpture of Scott Brash the Olympic equestrian rider who hails from the town.
The sculptor who made the piece is the blacksmith Kev Patterson. He 'hides' pieces inside his work but doesn't advertise the fact (there is a mouse holding a flower in the one dedicated to the retired minister in Mid Calder and even he didn't know until I told him). He only uses recycled metal -  mainly horse-shoes.

After dropping the car off we took a walk down to the sculpture.
It is a 'pole' with 4 horse shoes welded to it inside (very apt) but really hard to photograph as there are very few 'gaps' in the body.
I did manage to get something though.
I also took some more shots as we wandered round the town until the car was ready.

Getting home was a nightmare..... the City By-pass was stationary in both directions due to an accident and my planned alternative route was not possible due to a closed road due to roadworks. So that meant the only alternative was through Colinton Village.
Nearly 2 hours to get home............
