Thankful!

Just as we were about to open the door to go out for our walk this morning (Thanksgiving Day here in the USA), I saw this hermit thrush standing on the stone bench right in front of the porch (that white thing on the left is a porch column). I think I went the entire winter season last year without seeing a hermit thrush, and as some of you know the hermit thrush is my very favorite winter visitor. There are lots of juncos and lots of white-throated sparrows, but usually I only see one hermit thrush. On very rare occasions - two. So... I am very happy to know that there is still a hermit thrush wintering in my yard.
