Want a go?

Well, no-one wanted a go when I took this photo of the array of games machines at the Hollywood Bowl in Tonbridge Wells. In fact these flashy numbers occupy the space that was once the venue's cafeteria style refreshments area with its own seating. That's not there any more. If you want something to eat or drink you have to order it at the bar and it is served at your bowling lane. Not that we've ever wanted food service. We're just there to bowl. My form was a bit better today, averaging 127 over 3 games, but I only came 3rd out of the five of us. That was our last session for the year as our lead player and statistician and his wife, both of whom outperformed me today, are flying to Australia on Sunday for a 3 week holiday. December is busy anyway,  so we agreed to end the 2024 season today. I'm hoping for better and more consistent form in the New Year and, eventually, an easier journey when the major roadworks on the M25 are completed.
