Out and about

I woke early so just got up and went to the supermarket to get the food shopping in for the weekend. Home and unpacked it all then went down to town for a coffee and chat with JW….we mainly reminisced about summer schools and the power of second chance education, about the desire to change things after holidays, and hushing judgemental voices.
From there I went along George St, popping into a couple of shops to get the last few things for A&N’s advent calendars, and down to the Balmoral to meet LH. We’ve been meaning to meet for lunch for about a year and we finally managed to get organised today. We chatted for a couple of hours over our Caesar salads and chips about culture policy, family, travel, and council politics amongst other things. Home and started cooking for the weekend….mainly a big vegan chilli and a birthday cake for T.
Cleaned up the kitchen and hoovered and washed the floors, then ironed some bed linen and made up a bed for T&C.. I was dropping by then, so paused for a few crackers and snacks for supper.
The cake didn’t work out at all well so I ended up making it again….watched Shetland whilst I waited for it to cook.
The next couple of days are going to be hectic!
